Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a Title 1 school with nearly 300 homeless students, I am requesting the support of Donors Choose to provide essentials for learning, such as pencils and paper, as well as cleaning supplies. The goal is to reduce student anxiety by making the essentials available to each without them having to ask or feel as if their begging and seeking a handout. The fact that some of the more underprivileged students show up to school in spite of their individual circumstances, tells me they too have a goal and they recognize education is part of the pathway to success. For this reason alone, I aim to support their development and goals in every way I can.
