Help me give my students a Budding Builder station with engineering and design tools that will enhance and develop their science skills.
I teach in a public elementary school that services pre-k to fifth grade. I have a group of 18 high energy first graders that love school. My students are at various stages of development and varying degrees of reading skills. I have a few students who need extra assistance in learning new material and all of my students benefit from small group or individualized instruction.
My students are engaged and enthusiastic learners who love to read.
My biggest goal is to have students who enjoy school and like to learn new things. These first graders are excited to be at school and enjoy being part of our classroom family.
With a classroom full of budding builders and future engineers, I would like to have a science and engineering station in my classroom for students to design and develop amazing structures. I plan to have students do this as a part of our daily math and science rotation. I can also offer an extra STEM day in the morning before schools start each day. Students will work on different challenges and try using different building materials. They will be allowed to make choices and figure out the best materials to complete projects. Students will be developing their designing and building skills.
