My 40 Pre-K students love to learn and move. Coming mostly from backgrounds of poverty, they need lots of activities to get to where they need to be for kindergarten. Our classroom needs lots of different activities to keep their interest going.
Our school has over 90% receiving free or reduced rate lunch.
Most of our parents don't have the extra income to purchase materials that help them get ready for kindergarten. By the time they get to preschool, they have some lost ground to make up for.
My forty 4 and 5-year old students LOVE to create art. As a matter of fact, if it involves paint, glue, glitter, and scissors...they can't get enough of it.
By using these flat canvases, my students can create artwork that will last a lifetime!
They will each have at least one piece of work that they can give to a loved one who will appreciate it for a lifetime. We will also have enough canvas pieces to create artwork to hang and keep inside our classroom and the hallway.
Think about how exciting it would be to have a blank piece of canvas to actually make your own artwork on at this age. Who knows how many of these little ones will be inspired to keep creating!
