My students need this storage box to store the outdoor play items such as buckets, shovels, balls, chalk, bubbles and other items that they use twice a day when on the playground.

My Students
My preschool students are all from low income families and are so excited and happy to be in school. Most of their homes are single parent or two working parent families. They love to learn and one of their favorite times of the day is outside time on the playground.
Many of these students live in apartments and mobile homes and do not have yards or a lot of time to play on playgrounds and be outside.
We have swings, a climbing apparatus with slides and tunnels and another climbing structure we call a volcano. We also have a lot of sand on the playground and they love to dig and play in the sand with buckets, shovels, cars and trucks. Many of them have never been to the beach which is about 20 minutes away!
My Project
Our preschoolers need to be able to play outside with buckets, shovels, balls, chalk and bubbles daily. Currently, the items are left outside but often are stolen, used or broken by older students or neighborhood children who use the playground.
We would like to have these items and more outdoor equipment stored securely outside to help with our students' physical development and enjoyment.
Having this locked box will really enhance our program and make it much easier and accessible to the students.
They will be able to access the materials themselves and put them away independently. Many of the students are not able to play outside and most do not have these items at home, as all our students are from low income families.
