Help me give my students access to hands on activities so they can utilize their natural curiosity to promote the learning of engineering and technology.

I am a second-grade teacher at a Title I elementary school in rural North Carolina. This school is a Title I school, with 99% of students receiving free and reduced-price lunch, and 86% below grade level. The opportunities for these students are little to none. The classrooms are empty—there are no textbooks, school supplies, or even funding for nutritious food. Most students are hungry and many are homeless.
In my classroom, my goal is to enable every child to reach their goals and full potential.
I emphasize creativity and developing a long-lasting love for learning.
My students love movement, hands-on activities, asking questions, engaging projects and challenges! Although I may not be able to control their home lives, every minute they spend in my classroom—which begins the moment they walk through the classroom doors—I hope to focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I am dedicated towards teaching in a creative and positive way to inspire our earliest learners!
I recently learned that my students have never played with bubbles before! This astonished me and I wish to change this! What better way to expose them to playing with bubbles than to allow students to build their own bubble wands? This kit provides all lessons, steps, and materials to make this possible!
Through this hands-on project, students will investigate bubbles behavior and properties of different materials used to build bubble wands.
This project includes a series of steps in the Engineering Design Process, including imagining, planning, creating, improving, and asking questions, students will create and improve bubble wands. At the end of the project, students will showcase what they built by using their own wands with bubbles!
This project will not only expose kids to playing with bubbles, but they will also experience being engineers and learn about technology concepts. This project will also allow students to bring out their creativity and natural curiosity.
