My Students
The students and families of my school are very enthusiastic about our music program. Parents, administrators, and faculty recognize the importance of the arts in education and in life.
Our students are hard-working, fun-loving, and creative.
They soak up music, movement, and instrumental performance every chance they get. Many of our fifth graders come to school to practice band instruments and sing in chorus before they even eat breakfast!
My Project
My students need a 9-piece Orff Instrument Set. Orff instruments are a crucial part of music education. They give young musicians the opportunity to create accompaniments, improvise melodies, and perform as an ensemble. The Orff Schulwerk method combines music, movement, drama, and speech into lessons that are similar to a child's world of play. The method works with all elementary age children and aids in cognitive development and social skills.
This project will make a difference in the musical life of every child at my school by allowing the music teacher to implement the Orff Method.
This will be of special value to our youngest students and our special needs students, who need instruments that are easy to play while still being aesthetically fulfilling.
