My Project
Wobble stools and playdough are essential tools for supporting my non-verbal Level 3 autistic students in regulating their bodies and emotions. These items will promote body regulation by providing sensory input that meets their individual needs, helping them to focus and engage more effectively in learning activities. Wobble stools will allow students to move while seated, supporting core strength development and providing the physical stimulation they often seek through stimming. Play-Doh offers a hands-on sensory experience that engages touch, sight, and even smell, further supporting emotional regulation and calming sensory input. By incorporating these tools, my goal is to create a learning environment where students can utilize their sensory needs to enhance focus, engagement, and overall participation. My students are special because they bring unique strengths and perspectives, and with the right tools, they can thrive in a classroom that values and supports their sensory and emotional needs.
