My students need some Tunable Bongos, Wood Clave, Finger Symbos, and other handheld percussion instruments. This is the first time in my 15 year tenure I have tried to get new handheld percussion.
My students are awesome! I teach 5th and 6th grade instrumental students. These students are in their first and second year of band.
I teach in a rural central Pennsylvania school that is a Title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Like many school districts and especially music programs our budgets have taken drastic hits during the the 14 years that I have been here. We continue to make due and keep on plugging away while creating beautiful music and meaningful memories along the way. The extra help would be appreciated.
My Project
My students need some Tunable Bongos, Wood Clave, Finger Symbos, and other handheld percussion instruments. This is the first time in my 15 year tenure I have tried to get new handheld percussion. Our current supply of handheld percussion instruments are broken down and tired. We have taken good care of them and they have served us well but...
Now is the time for us to upgrade.
Our current instruments are easily over 15 years old. Since we took good care of them, we have gotten our moneys worth out of the old ones, but they are now cracked, broken, and generally sound bad. These instruments are not something that can be repaired, they simply need replaced.
Ongoing budget constraints make it difficult to replace instruments as they wear out and break. We appreciate any help you can give us!!
