Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade teacher in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I teach underprivileged children from diverse backgrounds. The one thing that most of the students in my school have in common is that they have never been to a Broadway show. Many of them never will. Broadway shows are magical. I am writing this proposal to give my students the opportunity of a lifetime. I want my students to experience Broadway with your help. The Lion King is a magical show filled with music, action, and amazing puppetry. I want to share the excitement of The Lion King with my second grade class. Most of my students never get the chance to leave their neighborhood in Brooklyn. This trip will show them that there is a whole world outside of the projects. Taking a trip to Times Square would be an experience that they will never forget. After the show I want to present each student with the soundtrack, so they could treasure their memories forever. Would you please help me give my students the opportunity of a lifetime by sending them, and their parents to a matinee performance of The Lion King?
