This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Here at the OCEAA Library we are proud that our students find both the space and the stories within it as something they can connect to. It’s our hope to give them new stories both in Spanish and English, as well as smaller and larger books that are of their own interest. As they find what they identity with, we find it to be pivotal to be part of the libraries story, since our students are what makes the library special in the first place.

Through connecting new books that are important to the students, both large and small, through precise , specific reading and broader subjects they wish to connect with in Spanish and English, we feel it helps us and our students broaden what reading is.

Reading is everything , in the things we realize and those we do not, it’s important that we reflect the books our students are interested in so they can see how stories are woven into everything and everyone.

Our space enriches and works to make lifelong learners, reading is not only the key to it, but also what we come to rely on in that path. With your donations you will be offering the very important building blocks in lifelong learning, that their interests can and should be reading too, and by realizing this will follow them for the rest of their lives.
