Help me give my students the materials needed to have a student run broadcasting class!
This project expired on July 11, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I work at a Title I School in Hutchinson, Kansas which means more than 40% of our student enrollment comes from low-income families. Despite the hardships these kiddos experience daily they come to school eager to build relationships with others, to learn and feel important! Our school is very much one big family and I love these kids as if they were my own. I want to give these students experiences that they will never forget but like many schools we don't have the funds to give them all the experiences that I want to. I am hopeful that with a little help I will set these students up with a love of school, learning and each other!
These materials will help to enhance the daily lessons that I can give to my broadcasting class. Currently, we are having to borrow materials which doesn't allow for the hands-on experience I want for this class. My dream and vision for my broadcasting students is to have control over their learning and for me and the other teacher of this group to be facilitators. I want the students to not only be the anchors and interviewers, like they are now, but to learn how to use the camera and direct episodes.
I want them to learn how to use the green screen software so they can be editors and producers.
We are doing such great things but I just know, with these materials at their fingertips, we can do so much more and help inspire their futures!
