My Project
What I love most about my students is their creativity, curiosity, and how fearless they become when they’re given the chance to express themselves. As an elementary broadcasting teacher, I get to witness their growth from shy, soft-spoken kids to bold storytellers who step in front of the camera with pride and purpose.
My goal for this project is to create a space where students feel confident, creative, and capable of using their voices.
What makes my students so special is that they are part of a rare opportunity fewer than 100 elementary schools in the entire country offer a dedicated broadcasting class. They are getting early exposure to public speaking, media production, and storytelling skills most kids don’t experience until much later.
The most important item in this project is a flexible chair. Since our classroom doubles as a recording studio, we’re constantly shifting the setup whether it’s filming a news segment, broadcast announcements, or a weather report. A movable, comfortable chair gives students the flexibility and focus they need while on camera.
I’m also requesting costumes and props to help students step into character and bring their stories to life. When they dress the part whether playing a reporter, a book character, or a historical figure it boosts their engagement, imagination, and confidence in front of the camera.
