Broadcast Math with a Class iPad

My Students

My students are amazing! The "covid" years have been particularly hard for some of them, academically and emotionally. The learning gap between my high and low learners is bigger than ever. We've worked hard this year to promote a growth mindset and to create a caring classroom

My Project

For the past year, I have used my personal iPad and Apple Pencil to broadcast math lessons using our Apple TV. Walking around the room as I teach, adding student examples to the lessons, and even having students show their thinking by "writing" on the iPad has greatly enhanced the lessons. The iPad has also allowed me to help students with their math remotely by creating lessons and providing one-on-one help with students by sharing my iPad screen with them. Unfortunately, my personal iPad isn't always available for me to take to school.

Having a class iPad would be so beneficial in enhancing math instruction.

Math instruction isn't the only area where the iPad would elevate the learning experience for my students. The mobility I have while doing formative assessments, the opportunities for creativity, and the enhanced learning possibilities would also be assets to my classroom.
