Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At SES, my students are energetic, eager, and full of curiosity. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many face challenges outside of school, but in PE, they all have the opportunity to move, grow, and thrive. They inspire me daily with their enthusiasm for learning new skills, playing cooperatively, and embracing healthy lifestyles.
This project will provide essential equipment—soccer balls, Cornhole, and Kan Jam—to introduce students to a variety of movement-based activities.
These resources will allow me to teach teamwork, coordination, and lifelong fitness skills in a way that is both fun and inclusive. By incorporating games like Cornhole and Kan Jam, I can engage students who may not feel as confident in traditional sports, ensuring that every child finds an activity they enjoy.
Additionally, an iPad will help integrate technology into our PE curriculum. With this tool, students can record their movements to analyze technique, receive instant feedback, and use fitness apps to track their progress. It will also allow me to enhance assessments, personalize instruction, and showcase student growth through digital portfolios.
My goal with this project is to create a well-rounded PE program that fosters physical literacy, teamwork, and a lifelong love of movement. By offering a variety of activities and leveraging technology, I can reach all learners, ensuring that every student finds a way to be active and successful.
