My Project

I absolutely love my 8th graders for their enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, and the thoughtful perspectives they bring to class discussions. They are at a pivotal age where understanding current events and global issues helps them connect classroom learning with the real world, and they are eager to explore and engage with the world around them.

The Scholastic Upfront magazine subscription I’m requesting will make a significant difference in their learning by providing them with accessible, relevant information about current events all while assessing informational text standards.

These magazines will help them stay informed about what’s happening globally and locally, fostering critical thinking and discussion skills. By incorporating current events into our lessons, my students will develop a deeper understanding of how the world works, enhance their reading comprehension, and improve their ability to analyze and discuss important topics.

My goal for this project is to keep my students engaged with the world outside the classroom and to encourage them to think critically about current issues. I want them to feel connected to global conversations and understand the impact of current events on their lives and communities.

They are always ready to dive into new topics, ask insightful questions, and engage in meaningful conversations. By providing them with these up-to-date magazines, we can further ignite their passion for learning and help them become informed, active citizens.
