Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This training is 30-hours of a hands-on, interactive, and personalized class that provides a complete understanding of IMSE’s enhanced Orton-Gillingham method, the essential five components to literacy, and the tools necessary to apply it in the classroom. After participating in this accredited Structured Literacy course, I will have a basic knowledge of how to assess and teach students in all three tiers of RTI as well as students with dyslexia.
Literacy is, and needs to be viewed as, a social justice issue.
With over two thirds of fourth graders not reading proficiently, it it imperative to have research and evidence based instructional practices applied in early elementary years. The science of reading, combined with, IMSE's multi-sensory approach will ensure that students of all levels learn how to read.
