Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with a diverse group of students with disabilities in a special day class program. My school is a Title I school in a low-income neighborhood where most of the families struggle to meet their basic needs. Many of my students have little access to hands on.learning experiences. My students are visual learners who learn best when they have games and activities that reinforce the concepts they are learning in class.
My Project
I teach a diverse group of students with disabilities in my classroom. One thing they all have in common though is their love of learning. Most of students struggle with reading and writing so learning new material can be a challenge. Giving them hands on science centers would give them the opportunity to explore world while inside the classroom. These centers would be accessible for all of my students who don't have the chance to explore nature in their urban neighborhood. Please help us bring the outside into my classroom.
