Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are coming from Clayton County. The areas is a Title one district which means the federal government is providing extra funding because the area is considered to have a high number of low income families. Our entire student population receives free lunch and breakfast.

They are as intelligent as anyone.

I would put them up against any others students. My Physics students are pushing the boundaries of what high school students should be doing. My environmental science students are excited to learn about the world and are anxious to get out and change the world.

My Project

I am requesting three Carolina Ecokits to bring the science to life. The topics Climate Mechanisms is as relevant as anything with the current politics surrounding climate change and the Ecological Succession kit.

My students will be able to collect data and complete data analysis and form their own opinions about the environment.

The kits allow the environment to be brought into the classroom.

The purpose of the labs are to encourage students to develop their own claims based on real data. These lab kits will allow them to do exactly that. The analyzing of the data will also help to strengthen their math skills. Ultimately it will allow them to have experiences that they might not have had otherwise. We hope these experiences will hooked them and get them to fall in love with the content and help with continued success.
