My students are an amazing, smart and talented group of fifth graders in a NYC school. We are currently participating in remote learning due to Covid-19 Pandemic. They were looking forward to their graduation and fifth grade special events. They are still adjusting to their new way of learning as we all are.
I am proud of how they are handling these changes.
They love our live classes over Google Meet. We have a lot of fun learning together.
My Project
This project contains some of the familiar supplies that we would be using in our classroom. We did not have a chance to pack up everything nor did we expect to need everything on our last day. For example: My students love all my colorful markers that I use in my classroom. They love to borrow them and use them for their work. So I plan to make a package for them with some markers.
Math Manipulatives are very helpful.
This project contains some math tools to help them visualize multiplication of fractions. My students benefit from multi-sensory models and practices as well as color coding.
The project also contains mindset journals, math journals for practice and a set of Harry Potter books to read as a class.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
