Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago with a tremendous school and neighborhood community. Our staff, administrators, parents, and community members work together to provide the best education possible to our hard working and dedicated students.
We are working hard to provide a virtual learning experience that is fun, meaningful, and engaging for our students.
My Project
When we went to remote learning last year, we had one days notice to pack up some things, say good bye, and hopefully see each other in two weeks. When that didn't happen, I started traveling to my students houses to bring them supplies and read to them from their sidewalks. At a time when we couldn't be together at school, these meetings were so important for us to stay connected and to check in on one another.
With this year started virtually, I am asking for leveled books and dry erase boards to be able to give to my students so that they can feel excited about learning at home and have the tools to help them do so successfully.
