This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my 9th grade ELA classes we are about to begin our next Unit that focuses on reading the short story titled St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves.
To make this Unit engaging, I want to bring the text to life for my students.
These masks will help me conduct an interactive activity in which students will craft their own wolf identities similar to the girls in the story that they will read. This will engage my students in their learning and help bring the text to life for them.
My students are a diverse set of learners, half are English Language Learners or immigrants from various Latin American countries. This project would greatly benefit all my students as it would provide a visual understanding of the story they are reading.
