This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am beginning my 12th year as an educator in a specialized NYC high school. My students are extremely talented, creative and diverse; each bringing something new and unique to the classroom. My students come to my class with a passion for fashion, art, business, or computer science, as this is the major they choose to pursue throughout their high school career. However, they often lack that same drive and confidence when it comes to mathematics.
As a mathematics teacher it is my job to support and target the learning needs of all my students and make my lessons as engaging and relevant as possible.
This can only be accomplished by providing specific and individualized feedback and support to each student.
Ultimately, this technology will allow me to lesson plan in order to target my student's specific learning needs, whether it be visual, auditory, or hands-on. I will also be able to conference with my students and create a plan to help each of them succeed.
