My Students
My students attend a Title I school in a high needs area where 100% of them receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Most of my students live in poverty.
My 2nd grade self-contained class consists of students with disabilities.
The students are classified as having Learning Disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorders and some are Emotionally Disturbed. Fund this project and my students will have the opportunity to excel in the classroom. They are a very excited group and are looking forward to an amazing year!
My students struggle to express themselves verbally and enjoy being able to express themselves through hands-on activities. The students' families are unable to provide the technology needed for the children to use at home. We live in a time when technology and computers are all around us. The kids in my class are struggling to learn basic computer skills as well as reading skills because they lack the exposure to these technologies and electronic books that they so need to succeed. With your help I can provide the students with the needed materials to succeed.
My Project
My students struggle to read and write due to various disabilities so the use of technology makes the struggle a little easier. By having an iPad, the students will have the opportunity to have lessons read to them and to be able to respond to those lessons without needing to speak or even write. The touch of a button will help them to succeed. These students come from very poor families so having the advantages at school will make the day more enjoyable. As a teacher I want to see my students succeed and with your help, I can make that happen.
