This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has made tremendous gains over the past twelve years, moving from one of the lowest-performing schools in the area to achieving the honor of being named a California Distinguished School!
We are an example of a community of students, teachers, parents, and staff all working together for academic achievement.
Our hope is that many of our students will be the first generation in their families to go to college!
The majority of my students are English language learners (ELLs) whose families are newcomers to America. They are highly motivated to learn and prosper.
My Project
Our class is studying ecosystems and animal adaptations in our science curriculum, so the materials I'm requesting will enhance their learning. It will bring real life learning into the classroom.
Students will learn about how Beta fish can co-exist with plants in the same ecosystem.
They will conduct learning investigations and be responsible to maintain the ecosystem. They will also grow their own plants using water and no soil. They will discover how plants grow in different environments and circumstances.
