This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We may be biased - but we believe we have the best kids around! Our school serves about 450 Kindergarten-5th grade students. One of our focus areas this year is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & math) and coding. We have launched a STEAM special and are bringing coding to our K-5 students!
Evo Ozobots are a complete robotics and coding kit for elementary students that focuses on introducing and teaching coding in a fun, interactive way!
Students and teachers have access to over 700 lessons that build coding skills two different ways. The first "screen-free" method uses color code markers to teach the robots to follow basic directions. Students can also code online with Ozobot Blockly visual programming. This dual approach caters to different learning styles and skill levels, offering a more flexible and inclusive learning experience than single-mode coding kits.
As we continue to focus on building students' critical thinking skills and STEAM knowledge base, helping all children have a foundational understanding of coding and robotics teaches them to analyze, problem solve, and develop logical reasoning skills through hands-on projects.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our proposal and for your support of our students. We are incredibly grateful to our community that believes in the power of education and ALL our students!
