My Students
My students are African American and Hispanic. They come from very low income families. Many of my children have not been exposed to many opportunities "extra" activities, such as, The Children's Museum, Zoo, etc. ….things many children take for granted. Many of these children are dealing with traumatic experiences that affect their emotional well being.
They are enthusiastic and inquisitive.
We just do not have a lot of resources for these busy little ones. We could use lots of enrichment activities and resources.
My Project
Pre K children learn best through play with hands on materials. These fun, educational materials will encourage children to explore the world around them. They will entice children to discover how the world around them works.
If I can bring science to life in my classroom, children will automatically have a desire to learn more.
If at 4 and 5 they have that desire, there is nothing they cannot achieve. It is my greatest desire to instill in my kiddo's a desire to love learning! They love school and want to never stop learning! With these resources I can begin to build that love.
