Bringing Science To Life On The Big Screen

My students need an Acer Extensa laptop computer. As a traveling teacher, I am looking for a laptop to support my teaching. The classrooms I teach in have interactive whiteboard and I would like to utilize them more. Having a laptop to create and house my lessons would allow me greater creativity in the classroom. I would have the ability to project websites, interactive websites, and other media directly from laptop onto a board that the whole class could view.

I am a teacher in New York who teaches science to seventh grade students and also am an extra substitute when other teachers are absent. My school does not have enough classrooms for all of it's teachers and some teacher, like myself, don't even have a desk.

My students are very eager to interact with technology, but as a teacher who doesn't have her own classroom (which means no computer) I don't have as many options to create technology based lessons. There are interactive whiteboard in my school that I feel I could be utilizing so much more if I only had a computer on which to create lessons. This computer would also be available for students to use during the lesson to add in another layer of interaction with technology. My classes all include special education student who will greatly benefit from the ability to use a laptop in class as an extra means of support.

At this time all I am asking for is a laptop to be able to bring around with me to the classrooms that I use so that both my students any myself can have a computer dedicated to our use in the classroom to explore science. There are many different website that allow students to conduct science experiments when it is not feasible to do so in the classroom, and this can't be done without a computer to be used.

Your donation will help make it possible for me to create the dynamic lessons that my students are looking for. You can make is possible for me to bring science to life for my students and to be that little extra think that means the difference between understanding the concept and being completely confused.
