FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. C.'s classroom raised $468
This project is fully funded
I am a new third grade teacher at Gladstone Elementary School and I am very excited about the upcoming school year! As I have been eagerly planning for the year I have realized the need for more hands on science activities within the classroom. My students come from the inner city of Chicago and few have had the opportunity to experience the joys of planting a garden and watching it grow. I am writing this proposal in the hopes that an opportunity can be provided for my students to work hands on with plants and to be surrounded by their natural beauty within our classroom.
For this activity my students would be using a greenhouse, root view displays, seeds, and a live tree to learn about how plants grow and make first hand observations. Additionally the students will be able to learn how to be responsible for living things and joys of taking pride in planting something and watching it grow! Although most of the experiments will be conducted during the first quarter, this indoor garden will provide the students with a year's worth of enjoyment!
I hope that you will help us to bring this project to life! This unique experience is a gift that will keep on giving and be remembered by the students for years to come!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
