Books are truly the gifts that keep on giving. During the years I have been an elementary school teacher I have seen this first hand. Children can be inspired, entertained, and comforted by books no matter how many times they have read them. Children remember so many things from the books they read and carry those memories with them for a life time. This is my 6th year teaching and my first year teaching 4th grade in this school. The majority of my students come from households that fall below the poverty line. A large percentage of my students struggle with reading and it is for this reason that I am looking to enhance our reading series through the addition of a classroom library filled with exciting and enticing books.
