My Students

Our high school is made up of approximately 1000 students, grades 9-12. Despite resources sometimes being tight, our students are passionate about their learning.

It is imperative that each student is provided with a supportive environment in which each of their needs and goals can be met.

Our school library is built to inspire student creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. I strive to cultivate an environment in which students are excited about learning, curiosity is fostered, and learning is a personal experience.

My Project

Our library is building and expanding our programs and services to meet the needs of all students. Tinkering is about hands-on experiences, learning from failures, and unstructured time to explore and invent. Through the processes of exploration and invention lies the potential for innovation. It's all about creating, exploring, encouraging curiosity and creative problem-solving. It’s about building confidence and skills, and helping students learn to think differently while they explore and create the world around them. Tinker tanks, or maker spaces help produce innovators and producers of new knowledge.

I want my library to be a space that encourages growth and mindfulness among my diverse group of students.

By bringing a sublimation printer into the library, students can visit the library to develop 21st century skills like technology literacy, collaboration, communication and initiative.

Students would use the EcoTank to create their own projects like t-shirts, posters, and stickers, and enrich their school assigned projects
