Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Title I school with a heavy newcomer student population. Many of our students are English Language Learners who are excited to find ways to interact with STEM projects.
Lab is designed to allow newcomers to experience skills and ideas that they previously have not been exposed to and allow them to measure the pH of a solution.
Since measuring pH does not require everyone to speak the same language, I believe thesepH meters can serve as a way to a foster a strong community and connection between my new comer students. This fostering of community will in turn help with mental health and give my students an outlet to be creative.
