Mr. Caster from Chicago IL is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need Epson Multipack ink cartridges to print completed projects that have been created using PhotoShop showing their ideas based on their current novel.

Novels have been read for years but using technology to create pictures that tell the story of the novel bring that novel, no matter how long ago it was written, to life for today's students. What a great way to integrate technology into today's curriculum.
My students, like many students, have a real knack for using technology.
They have no fear of technology, and are really interested in using it at home and in school. The students have access to computers, cameras, iPods, and other technologies in the school. They also have access to software like PhotoShop and Premiere. What is lacking in the school are the everyday resources, in particular, printer ink. The students are learning to use technology to express themselves and their thoughts. They also like the idea of creating something new. They enjoy displaying what they create.
My students are now reading "Number the Stars," a novel of Nazi oppression during World War II. To show their understanding of the novel, students are creating posters using PhotoShop, depicting different scenes from the novel. Along with this project, students had a field experience at the Holocaust Museum. They are learning about the horrors of this era and its affect on children of a similar age. My students need ink to print out their posters for everyone to see what they have created. The posters will demonstrate their knowledge of the the novel and help develop a more compassionate outlook towards others who are different from themselves.
The posters are being created, but how can they be shared?
They could be placed on cds and then shown to different classrooms, but a poster display, one that can be seen regularly, can not only affect those who are doing the creating, but those who see the images.
