My Project
My students are incredible learners with unique strengths and diverse needs. My students have autism and communicate in nontraditional ways, relying heavily on visuals and hands-on materials to understand and engage with the world around them. They are resilient, curious, and full of potential—they just need the right tools to help them succeed.
Right now, our classroom is limited to black-and-white printing, which impacts the effectiveness of key supports like visual schedules, social stories, token boards, and adapted academic materials.
A color printer would allow me to create vibrant, meaningful resources that are easier for my students to process and more engaging to use. Color-coded visuals improve comprehension, reduce anxiety, and support communication for my students who are nonverbal or have limited language.
The goal of this project is to make learning more accessible, individualized, and fun. With a color printer, I can design materials that meet each student's specific needs—whether that’s a personalized behavior chart, a color-coded math worksheet, or a visual choice board. This small addition will make a huge difference in our classroom, helping my students feel seen, supported, and excited to learn every day.
