My Students
My students range from academically struggling to on target. They are all academically focused on bettering themselves, and try to help others. I have students that have behavioral issues that reflect their various hardships from their home life that distract them from their schooling. The area they live in is full of poverty and that can put stress on my students. At our school, we try to use inclusiveness to make all students feel like they belong. All of my students are special, because they want to succeed and persevere.
My Project
My students are in need of new books for our classroom library. The books we have are not appropriate levels for my students, and that causes them to become disengaged with the whole process of reading. Our materials will also be cut in half next year, and some of our books are in very bad shape.
My students need enough books to help them advance in their reading journey.
I want my students to be able to feel excited to open up a book and read, to find something they truly enjoy! I want my students to know that reading is an endless opportunity to allow your imagination to bring new worlds to life. With your help, I know that these materials will bring a new life into our classroom!
