My Students
Picture the look on a Chil'ds face as it watches fish swim around and when they are exploring parts of nature that they have never been exposed to before.
The school that the students attend is a Title I school in which the students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, many of whom do not speak English at home.
The students who are in my classroom come from single parent homes, in which many work the second and third shifts. Many students start their day at a daycare center and end their day at a daycare center.
My Project
Having the all in one nature activity kit will allow the students in my class to explore the outdoor by completing activities that include exploring for bugs, examining leafs from trees and plants as well as learning how to measure shadows. The fish tank will allow students to learn how fish survive under water, and learn what the needs of a pet are.
The main reason I am asking for these items is that many of my students would not get to experience these types of experiments/activities outside of the classroom.
So as a teacher I feel that it is my duty to bring experiences into the classroom to help my students learn, understand and experience things that are around them.
