This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? My students share that same excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series. They are inquisitive, voracious readers who crave to suspend reality and immerse themselves in the worlds created by their books.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

We are part of a school that celebrates social justice and inclusion, and we know that developing reading and writing skills are two of the most powerful tools that move us towards taking meaningful action in our lives. We believe that our students will write the future.

My Project

My students are voracious readers and writers with inquisitive minds! In my class, my students spend sometime working independently on projects, their own artwork, writing pieces, as well as assessments that require headphone usage.

Headphones allow my multi-modality learners to listen to books be read aloud to them, write and hear back what they have written, and listen to music while they work.

During the pandemic, some of our headphones were lost or damaged and as a result I need to replenish our supply. Thanks for helping to bring music to my students' ears!
