This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our middle school is a Museums Magnet School where students come from all over Miami-Dade to participate in museum-style learning. What does that mean? Throughout the year students use museum strategies such as object-based learning and visual thinking strategies to engage in the curriculum as if they were at a museum. Then, students get a chance to show their talents in an "Exhibition Night" at the end of the year. This specific project will help my students prepare for Exhibition Night by giving them a mini-museum in my classroom. With the command strips, I plan to hang their masterpieces around the room to foster a sense of pride in their work as well as to inspire other students to create museum-worthy pieces. The printer will allow me to print descriptions and student names in order to label the artwork. Additionally, with the printer, I will be able to print images of existing pieces in real museums to use in the classroom for our museum strategies in which students can analyze artifacts and artwork to delve deeper into the content. Your donation will help with day-to-day classroom activities. The students love writing answers to review games on small dry erase boards, but we are out of dry erase markers. The file organizer will help me keep students' materials organized.
