Bringing More Accessibility in Our Sped Classroom!
Help me give my students classroom items to make our room more accessible and meaningful. An Apple TV will allow us to easily access digital lessons, curriculum, communication models, and instructional videos.
Special education classrooms require specialized materials. I am requesting a small whiteboard to put on the wall in one of our small group centers. A small whiteboard can be used to practice so many things! Especially for our friends who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility, a magnetic whiteboard at their level can open so many opportunities.
An Apple TV is something that I firmly believe all classrooms should have.
Using an Apple TV will allow us more freedom to project our digital lessons and curriculum, project AAC to model on a large scale, and easily project instructional videos. Right now we are limited and have to remain connected to a wall, an Apple TV will allow me to be more engaged with the children because I can project from anywhere.
Lastly, a spiral binder. As mentioned, students with special needs require specialized materials. I will be using the spiral binder to create adapted books (tactile books, high visibility/contrast books, and more. Primarily, I am excited to use it to create more meaningful and differentiated communication books for my students.
