This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a basic 3D printer and filament. With a 3D printer, my students can tap into their creative instincts and make the literature we read in class come alive. Students will be able to create Shakespeare's Globe Theater or Gatsby's mansion by reading the text closely and then using the 3D printer software and printer to construct the object. In addition to creating setting elements, students will use the printer to create tangible literary symbols, characters, and ideas.

For students claiming they don't like to read or write, being able to use STEM skills in English class can help turn them into readers and writers.

Having a 3D printer in my classroom will enable students to take ownership of their education while giving them viable skills for today's workplace.
