Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Kindergarten teacher in Holyoke. MA. I have an amazing group of Kindergarten students this year who come to school everyday excited to learn something new. Holyoke is a city that faces many challenges. The majority of my students come from very low income families and many are homeless. Our school has been identified as a critical needs school. It is very rewarding to work in this school and to know that I have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my students every day.

I want to provide my students with the highest quality materials that I can to make learning come to life for them!

I want all students to reach their fullest potential and in order to do that, I know that I need to provide different opportunities for learning. I have a class comprised of 50% special education students this year. I want to ensure that I am promoting equity for all students! We were given a light table for our classroom and I would love to give them these light table manipulatives to bring that learning of letters, numbers and counting to life for them. The instant learning centers will give them hands-on opportunities to learn important ELA concepts in a very fun way. The alphabet locks and the CVC activities will provide the sensory approach to learning that my students need. Please join with me to provide these materials for my students to help them reach their highest potential this year!
