This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, eager learners who thrive with hands-on experiences. Many come from economically disadvantaged homes, and their exposure to nature is often limited. To bring science to life, I want to provide them with live ladybug and butterfly kits, along with insect, sea life, and animal viewers, so they can observe life cycles firsthand.

Through this project, my students will witness metamorphosis up close—watching tiny caterpillars transform into butterflies and larvae grow into ladybugs.

The additional life cycle viewers will allow them to explore the development of frogs, fish, and other animals, deepening their understanding of the natural world.

This experience will foster curiosity, engagement, and a love for science. It will also help my bilingual students build academic vocabulary in both English and Spanish, ensuring they grasp complex concepts through meaningful, real-world learning.

With your support, my students will not just read about life cycles—they will experience them in a way that inspires wonder and a lifelong passion for learning!
