Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are full of curiosity, energy, and determination. They come from a small Title 1 school in South Texas, where resources are limited, but their dreams are big. Many of them face daily challenges outside of school, yet they come into the classroom eager to learn, explore, and succeed.

As a dual language teacher, I teach both math and science in English and Spanish.

This means I have to make sure every lesson connects with students in both languages — and sometimes that can be difficult with only a traditional whiteboard. A smart interactive whiteboard would transform our learning space into a place where every student can see, touch, and interact with knowledge.

Imagine students solving math problems by dragging and dropping shapes, watching science experiments come alive on a large 4K screen, or reading vocabulary words in both languages with vibrant visuals. This whiteboard would help my students see concepts more clearly, participate more actively, and develop confidence in both English and Spanish.

Technology like this helps level the playing field for children from economically disadvantaged homes. It gives them the opportunity to learn with tools that prepare them for the future — tools they often don’t have access to at home.

With your help, my classroom can become a space where learning feels like discovery. This interactive whiteboard will make it easier for students to grasp complex math and science concepts, strengthen their bilingual language skills, and keep their excitement for learning alive.
