My students need more technology devices like these Chromebooks in the classroom to help bring history alive.

My Students
My middle school, where the population is approximately 520 students, encompassing grades 6-8, where 75% of our population are African American, 25%, white and Hispanic students. We are in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. The students work hard and know that the teachers are trying their best with their resources provided, but it is difficult to continue to supply them with what they need when my wallet is stretched so thin.
My Project
Students look at their peers in other districts wondering why they have the technological advantages and we can hardly have a working computer cart. Using these Chromebooks in the classroom will help to bring history alive by allowing them to play games such as Oregon Trail, and other games from Mission US. They will also use these to help them with research projects and keep up with current events. By having these netbooks, my students will finally feel like they haven't been forgotten by a district that is trying to "rebrand" themselves, yet fails to acknowledge the lack of funding and challenges in our schools.
