I teach 7th grade social studies in Illinois. My school is a low-income school in a high-need community.
My students were timid about history at first, but as we us more visuals, they are really responding. However, my presentation of visuals is limited, because I do not have the means to show the entire class the same thing at one time. In addition, they love presenting projects and working with computers. I can't have them do PowerPoint projects, because we don't have the means to present it to the entire class.
In order to reach more of my students and give them opportunities to work with technology, we need an LCD project. Technology is so important to the world today and students are at a disadvantage if they do not have access to what students at other schools may have.
Your support will make it possible for my students to get a better understanding of history and to build technological skills. These skills will help them achieve more and be better equipped for high school and beyond.
