I need financial assistance for a 200-hour yoga teacher training in order to support students, staff and the community to manage stress, heal from trauma, and increase overall wellness.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will help cover the cost of the Breathe For Change comprehensive training program. It is designed for educators to build skills used to facilitate wellness and social-emotional learning in the classroom, as well as teach inclusive and trauma-informed yoga classes to young people.
I have never received any formal training in Social Emotional Learning and I am seeking to fill this hole in my professional development to better serve my diverse students.
Upon completing the Breathe for Change course, I will become certified as a Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator (SEL*F) and earn a nationally recognized RYT-200 yoga teacher certification. Because I teach all the students at my school, Pre-K through 5th grade, I will have the unique opportunity to share my new skills with the entire student body, incorporate social-emotional and wellness supports in my daily ENL class routines and classroom culture, and facilitate workshops to share resources with my fellow educators.
