My Project

Roughly 13% of students aged 12-17 have a diagnosis of ADHD. This leads itself to difficulty focusing in the classroom, and in turn, will cause disruption for the other students.

By providing students with options, such as chair bands and wobble stools, to get their energy out in a non-disruptive way will increase content retention as well as decrease off-task behaviors due to hyperactivity.

All students will have access to the chair band. There will be enough to put on each chair, and 3 extra. The wobble stools will be used when students are at intervention in small groups with the classroom teacher so they can have movement while focusing on learning.

My students are awesome! They want to learn, they are willing to ask questions and try again. However their activity level will sometimes interfere with their learning, and they have to be re-taught (which is fine!). Any way I can help them manage their behaviors while learning is a win-win. We appreciate your consideration in contributing to this project.
