Bringing Coding to Life

My students need Bloxels to be able to expand coding and creating content to real gaming experiences through providing them 21st century skills.

My Students

We are a school district made up of three smaller rural cities; Rockville, Cold Spring, and Richmond. Our district is growing this year which means more need for support of the growing student base. There is a mixture of low income and ELL students which means a need for external support.

Within our district, technology is far behind neighboring districts and there is a need to increase this support.

The district has a great community support and we would love to expand that support across the nation.

My Project

With having a population of students in low income or English language learner households, students lack the opportunities to explore hands-on experiences in 21st century skills. Our school is currently trying to catch-up on the lack of technology for multiple years and there is not extra money for items like, Mattel Bloxels. Having demoed a Mattel Bloxel with my students, it really brings their creativity alive.

Bringing new technology tools to the district will help spark students interest in education and specifically 21st Century skills that are important to the world today.

These Mattel Bloxels will also require students to work in teams to create games, which will enhance their soft skills too.
