This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Butterflies are beautiful, but my 2nd Graders have only seen a Monarch or a Painted Lady butterfly on YouTube! My learners were Pre-K students in 2020 and missed the opportunity for exploration during a time meant for wonder and discovery. It's hard for my students to believe butterflies, with colorful wings, were once creepy crawly caterpillars!

This indoor project brings bugs & butterflies into our classroom, allows students to see the caterpillar to butterfly life cycle up close, learn about the metamorphosis of a chrysalis, and focus on creating a diverse habitat.

There are STEM journals packed with hands-on activities in these Science kits for young explorers. They include habitats and butterfly growing kits to observe real caterpillars transform!

The educational books and crafts will help enhance my students' creativity, stimulate their imagination, and improve their own ideas. Thank you for helping my class experience and enjoy the fun of "Bringing Bugs & Butterflies Into Our Backyard."
