I believe that one major way to get kids to love reading is to give them easy access to a wide variety of books. If the books they have access to are organized and presented in an appealing way, this makes the search for their new favorites that much easier.
My goal for this project is to provide my students with an opportunity to see books of all genres so they are encouraged to read and explore until they find their favorites, and as a result, a love for reading.
Having this big collection of books within the classroom makes finding those favorites that much easier. It also provides a safe space outside of the library for them to ask questions, try new genres, and test out different books that they may not have the time or the opportunity to check out in the library.
I would love to provide my students with these bookcases so that our classroom library can be well-organized and they can easily see book titles. I would also be able to organize books by level and genre which will help them find specific types of books. I believe our students are worth it and deserve to have every opportunity to learn and grow that we can provide to them. This project would help me give them some more of those opportunities.
