The students submitting this project are part of my English class. McKinley, Sydney, Jada, Cam and Will are the main leaders in this campaign. They are ambitious, intelligent, caring students who want to incorporate the arts in English class. All of these students are role models to their peers and are excellent representatives of our school and our community.
They all have a passion to make our school community come together and help each other out and they plan on doing that with bringing in the arts and collaborating with the art teacher. They are spreading kindness to the world and making sure each student knows that it is okay to ask for help.
The students running this project are working very hard in contributing to our students in the community. This is preparing them to be leaders not only in their community, but in their futures.
The students recently started exploring the Cricut Design Space website and fell in love. McKinley was so excited that she shared the site with the class and now everyone wants the chance to create their own. McKinley took everyone step by step through the site. The class was enthusiastic and eager to print and design their artwork and try out the site. McKinley enjoyed the site so much and sharing it with her peers that she was motivated to write another project. She was overjoyed by the success of our first project, she couldn't wait to share even more with her peers!
In Their Own Words
Our group is in charge of teacher appreciation and to promote student collaboration with the arts. We will not only be able to design projects, but we will pull other content areas into our project. With the design space, we have to use a computer program that works with the engineering classes.
We want to help promote the arts in all classroom content areas so this is the next step. We plan on incorporating art in English classes first, then moving on to other classrooms to help further student interest in the arts. This will help us bring engineering into the classrooms. This is the second project of many that we plan on doing. We want to show our classmates that it is possible to bring art into each content area.
People don't always incorporate arts into all the content areas so we are trying to solve this problem by starting small and making English fun and relatable with engineering. This project will help students interact and bring out their creativity within both classes. The challenge will be to get students interested in combining arts into all content areas.
